Solution

Caps work by limiting the usage on your account for either international or local access or both.

Say you purchase a 2GB Softcap account from Imagine.

Your first 2GB of traffic (whether it is local or international bandwidth) counts towards your initial cap. Once you have reached that cap, all international traffic is stopped or 'hardcapped' and you will no longer have international access.

You will however, still have local bandwidth availability up to combined total of 30GB. (So if you have hit that initial 2GB cap, you will have 28GB local bandwidth left). This will allow you to continue accessing your email as well as many other online servies like banking, news, company VPN and online shopping.
