Blitz Fibre is enabling multi-dwelling complexes in South Africa to become fibre-ready at no extra cost.

The company builds a non-intrusive open-access underground fibre infrastructure, which allows ISPs to offer Internet and connectivity services to home owners and tenants.

“FTTH is fast become the buzz phrase in the connectivity world,” said Blitz Fibre. “Everybody wants to be connected for longer and consume more data for less. It is just a matter of time before all complexes have internal fibre connectivity as a general living feature.”

How Blitz Fibre connects complexes

Blitz Fibre offers complexes an end-to-end solution, from planning and construction to individual home installations. The step-by-step process is outlined below:

Planning: A Blitz representative conducts a survey to determine how best to provision fibre to the complex.

Wallbox location confirmation: Once Blitz has completed their planning process, a Blitz representative communicates with the governing body to explain the construction process within the complex.

Construction process: Civil work begins, and Blitz installs the infrastructure as per the survey plan that was signed off by the governing body.

Reinstatement: Upon completion of the civil work, the Blitz teams will ensure that the property has been restored to its original state.

Fibre work: Fibre is then provisioned through the protective ducting and is linked to every resident in the complex.

Connected and ready: The complex is then fibre-ready, and Blitz contacts all residents who placed orders to schedule individual installations into their homes.

Blitz Fibre is made up of a team of industry experts motivated to bring fibre connectivity to the masses, focusing on building futureproof fibre infrastructure networks in multi-dwelling complexes, multi-business retail complexes, as well as small and large scale industrial business parks.

Boksburg Child Welfare is continuing to help the children of our community against all odds.

The welfare’s operations recently received a boost after receiving a Wi-Fi sponsorship from a local business, Imagine Internet Protocol Solutions.

“The welfare is an NPO that usually relies on the contribution of the Department of Social Development to keep going.

“With the current economic situation for the last five years, money is tight, so we have to to keep our operational costs as low as possible,” said Vanessa Naidoo-Pillay, director of Boksburg Child Welfare.

“We have three offices in Boksburg and have up to 45 staff members as we are one of the biggest child welfares in the Ekurhuleni district.”

The local welfare used to buy airtime and data to access online banking and emails, but this proved to be extremely expensive.

Naidoo-Pillay said the sponsorship is making their day-to-day job so much easier, as they can now also purchase new laptops that will be able to update software regularly, which they were not able to do before.

“We’ve had full Wi-Fi connection in our head office since last week and the other two offices will be connected soon.”

Bradford Lotriet from Imagine told the Advertiser that they were pleased to help the local welfare.

The need for fast uninterrupted Internet is growing at a rapid pace and with the demand for connectivity at an all-time high, connectivity issues have recently been brought to Imagine IPS’ attention; “We realised the east of Johannesburg has signal problems and looked for a solution”. Imagine IPS took up the challenge to supply a high level of excellent service and connectivity, focusing their efforts on the East Rand.

The Benoni area is where Imagine IPS has set their sights as a starting point, with plans in place to make the East Rand just as Internet savvy as the North. Hands on technicians, client service satisfaction and trusted advisors have helped this company to build a reputation for their quick, efficient and effective solutions. Imagine IPS prides themselves in meeting clients’ IT needs, while their reliability is fast putting this company on the map.

Imagine IPS will celebrate International Internet Day by officially launching their brand in the East Rand. Paired with access points, Imagine IPS connects the market and supplies wireless solutions to their clients. The launch will be complemented with a community upliftment project at Oliver’s house, an institution that is SETA recognised, helps tutor and prepare matric students for their upcoming exams and is recognised by the Department of Education, which will be supplied with Wireless Internet.

According to Bradford Lotriet “Imagine IPS will be looking at rolling out this initiative to other disadvantaged schools within the area while leaving members of the East Rand community asking the question: Imagine you were not with Imagine IPS”.

If this has made you second guess your current Internet Service Provider and you are looking to change over to a new service provider, there are a few things you need to keep in mind.

Wired vs. Wireless networks

One of the most important considerations to keep in mind when changing to a new Internet Service Provider is deciding whether or not to choose wired or wireless network to get your business connected. In a fast paced environment the people within your business might need to be able to access the network and Internet in order to perform their duties, however stolen copper cabling can leave your business without Internet for days and therefore Wireless Internet connectivity is the best choice as this. Although wireless connectivity’s popularity is increasing, there are still companies who prefer to have wired connections as it is believed to be more reliable.

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)

Businesses are now able to make calls over data by using an IP-based phone setup instead of traditional voice lines to allow for flexibility in transferring calls to smartphones, enabling employees to receive calls when they’re not in the office. VoIP technology makes this possible, as well as being able to expand the business without incurring additional expenses.

Skilled Support

If you have a small-to-medium business, chances are you don’t have your own IT department and rely heavily on outsourcing to have your technical needs met. You need to consider an Internet Service Provider that will provide you with technical support that goes further than merely troubleshooting services, they are available to give support to any users within your business that are having connectivity problems – your business might need a personable approach towards problem resolution.

These are only some of the factors that play an important role in your decision making when moving over to a new ISP.

Contact IMAGINE today to find out how we can assist you with these and other services.
